A check stub, also called a pay stub or earnings statement, lists earnings, taxes, deductions and net pay for a pay period. It records the details of a payment; it is not the payment itself.

Yes. Check stub, paycheck stub, pay stub and earnings statement are common names for a document showing the details of a payroll payment.

The planned generator will let you prepare a replacement from your original payroll records. Use the employer, employee, pay dates and amounts that match those records. If you’re missing the details, request them from your employer or payroll provider first.

Have the employer and employee names and addresses, pay-period dates, pay date, gross earnings, recorded tax withholding, deductions and any reimbursements ready. For accurate YTD totals, you’ll also need the payroll history for the year.

You can preview Signature Forest, Classic Navy and Monochrome. These are three color styles of the same layout, with separate sections for earnings, employee taxes, deductions and reimbursements.

No. You can open the template previews and download sample PDFs without signing up or entering personal information.

The initial generator will use the tax withholding amounts you provide from your payroll records. It will not estimate withholding or replace your payroll or tax provider.

YTD totals combine your supplied opening balance, recorded prior payments and the current payment. Have that history ready when preparing a stub for an earlier or later pay period. Our sample walkthrough shows how the amounts add up.
